We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our sister nonprofit organization — Markham and Lawrence Sports United (MLSU)! 🎉 As our community sports programs have continued to grow over the years, the need for a dedicated organization to support and expand these initiatives became clear. MLSU was created to house and manage all of MLCU’s sports and recreation programs, including youth ball hockey, girls’ volleyball, and ladies’ fitness, under one focused umbrella.
This new structure allows MLCU to continue concentrating on its community wellness, seniors, and family programming, while MLSU takes the lead in providing inclusive, accessible, and affordable sports opportunities for children, youth, and adults in Scarborough and beyond. Our shared vision remains the same — to build stronger, healthier, and more connected communities. With MLSU, we aim to: Expand recreational sports offerings year-round. Create more leadership and volunteer opportunities for youth. Ensure safe, welcoming spaces for girls and women in sports. Foster teamwork, confidence, and community pride through play.
Together, MLCU and MLSU will continue working side by side to support families, encourage active living, and strengthen community bonds. Stay tuned for updates on new sports leagues, tournaments, and training opportunities coming soon under MLSU! 💪 Markham and Lawrence Sports United (MLSU) Building community through sport.
